Description of Significance THE WILLIAMS SCHOOL IS A SINGLE STORY, RECTANGULAR BUILDING WITH A SANDSTONE EXTERIOR. THIS BUILDING WAS A 1936-1936 PROJECT OF THE WPA IN LEFLORE COUNTY. THE SCHOOL HAS A HIPPED ROOF, WITH A GABLED DORMER ABOVE THE ARCHED ENTRYWAY. THE STYLE OF THIS BUILDING IS UNUSUAL WITHIN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY, AND ITS CONSTRUCTION HELPED PROVIDE MUCH NEEDED EMPLOYMENT FOR LOCAL MEN DURING THE GREAT DEPRESSION. LISTED IN NATIONAL REGISTER 9/8/1988.
